What Mushrooms In December?
The mushrooms you can find in December are the same as those you found in November. In particular, the milder the month of December, the more chances you’ll have of finding many mushrooms.
Here’s a non-exhaustive list of winter classics:
- Chaga (Inonotus obliquus)
- Hedgehog mushroom (Hydnum repandum)
- Black Trumpet (Craterellus cornucopioides)
- Birch Polypore (Fomitopsis betulina)
- Tinder Polypore (Fomes fomentarius)
- Witches Butter (Dacrymyces palmatus)
- Enoki (Flammulina velutipes)
- Winter Oysters (Pleurotus sp.)
- Wood ear (Auricularia angiospermarum)
